Introduction
Jean-Vincent (JV) Hong was born and raised in Paris, France where he passionately studied mathematics and computer science, and notably graduated from ESIEE Paris with a Master of Science in embedded systems and intercultural management.
In 2010-2011, an interest in learning different cultures motivated JV to study abroad and apply for an exchange program at Harvey Mudd College.
After an outstanding school year completing engineering and robotics courses, JV was recommended by multiple professors to join the RoboBees project at Harvard University.
During the research program, JV created innovative solutions leveraging computer vision, leading him to a national recognition for being one of the best engineers of the year in France, along with making the cover of a renowned technology magazine.
In 2012, JV started his professional journey at 2Advanced Studios as a software engineer architecting and implementing web applications.
Driven by excellence and eager to assimilate cutting-edge technologies, JV rapidly climbed the ladder to become the director of development and managed diverse web applications for numerous clients including fortune-100 corporations.
In 2016, JV joined Hitachi Consulting to become a solutions architect with further exposure to executive audience.
His dynamic management skills combined with his exhaustive technical background introduced JV to greater applications in collaboration with the leader in the automotive industry.
Adaptation and communication are essential to efficiently complete projects, and JV demonstrated his competences with a strategic mindset and a high-achieving attitude.
Always seeking new challenges, JV recently joined Amazon. More accomplishments to come…

Safe and compact machine for rapidly producing frozen confections
US20130333404 A1
Abstract – Dec. 2013
The present invention safely freezes a confection very quickly, preferably in less than two minutes.
The device includes an insulated refrigerant tank; one or more elevators; a mold; a mold holder mounted on the elevator; a refrigerant level monitoring subsystem capable of refilling the refrigerant tank; and, a user interface subsystem.
The mold is preferably tapered with interior freezing surfaces such as tubes of refrigerant, which decrease the confection’s freezing time.

JV’s client-facing demeanor and technical skills don’t come along very often. I had the privilege of working with JV on a high-profile and complicated project for a very demanding client. JV was asked to take on increasingly more than his original role as lead architect. He represented the solution directly to the client and served as the main contact point for all things technical while at the same time staying hands on with the solution. He took all this increased responsibility on without question and pulled it off flawlessly. Both his maturity and understanding of modern development combined with his ability to keep a client well informed are exceptional. I would not hesitate to recommend JV to anyone.

I had the pleasure to work with JV on several high-profile consumer facing projects at a major automotive OEM. He is an amazing hands-on technical architect. He is one of the highest performing people I’ve worked with in my career. He was instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of multiple projects. He effectively architected solutions and delegated technical implementation activities to development team members. He did a great job at managing and coaching junior development team members. I appreciated the creativity he brought to solving technical problems. He embraced new opportunities and was willing to go above and beyond both company and client expectations.

JV is one of the top architects who fully grasps the intricate and multi-faceted model data/inventory pipeline systems at Lexus/Toyota. He ramped up more efficiently than other technical architects and we were extremely fortunate to have him lead the development of critical vehicle apps. He fully understands the client’s business goals and designs the most appropriate solutions, whether they are data integration programs or more creative digital marketing initiatives.

Jean-Vincent created some of the more memorable moments of Spring 2011’s Computer Vision and Robotics course. Beyond being a conscientious and exceptionally capable student, Jean-Vincent approached the material in this class with as much enthusiasm as anyone: his automatic image-stitcher and -mosaicker was a beautiful example of the combination of deliberate, careful design with tenacity. His final project, which was to program an ARDrone quadrotor helicopter to follow atop an iRobot Create ground platform, was one of the remarkable successes shown during our demo days, operating precisely as Jean-Vincent’s team wanted it to, despite a couple of lingering mysteries as to the software pieces they leveraged to get it done. That Jean-Vincent joined Harvard’s RoboBees project in the following summer speaks to both his talents and his tenacity: Jean-Vincent is certainly someone I would recommend wholeheartedly to any open-ended, creative project containing a substantial computational component!

I have known Jean-Vincent for only a few months but he has already made a very favourable impression on me. He is an outgoing, dynamic person who throws himself totally into new ventures and gives 110%. A reflection of his solid all-round ability is the fact that he has chosen to spend the final year of his Engineering studies in the Management school where I work, thus widening and developing his skills. He is currently following a course in my own speciality, cross-cultural management, and I can see that he has great potential to be an effective manager in any multi-cultural context in which he might find himself. I’m sure he will go far – in every sense of the word!

Director of Studies
ESIEE Paris

Communication Manager
ESIEE Paris
Jean-Vincent won the prize “the Engineer of the Year 2011” awarded by the magazine “Usine Nouvelle”. I am the ESIEE’s Communications Manager, so I asked him several times to represent the school and he has always answered yes with enthusiasm. For example, he participated in a live interview on Web TV “Campus channel” or spoke at a panel discussion for “Cordées de la Réussite” in the famous “Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées”. Still very dynamic, Jean-Vincent has had a remarkable career in ESIEE Paris and became an example for other students. I would add that it is great to work with him because his optimism is contagious.
